Create and Edit Custom Facebook iframe tabs with Static HTML CF
Written by Clement Faria on April 18, 2011 under Web Development.

I was given a job from a client that wanted a custom Facebook fan page created, without hosting and creating an application. As we know already, Facebook has discontinued FBML (Facebook Markup Language). After March 11, Pages will no longer be able to access and create new Static FBML tabs on their fan page. However, if you already have an existing tab made via Static FBML, it will not be effected.
The death of FMBL opens new doors to iframe canvas applications. FBML is good, but it has its limitations, like no javascript. Iframes allow the use of html, css and javascript in your applications, which gives the ability to create more creative application and fan page designs as well as increased reliability.
I found some static html tutorials as well as some 3rd party Facebook applications, but I decided to create my own app with a few extra features make things more convenient.
Static HTML CF is a free application for Facebook fan pages, created by your favorite Website / Multimedia Developer, Clement Faria. Static HTML CF was first created for my clients and personal use instead of using other 3rd party iframe tab applications. It was decided to make this wonderfull application public for all developers.
The good thing about Static HTML CF is that you can set up a basic custom fanpage tab easily, without creating an application or hosting images anywhere. There is also an admin dashboard to help you manage iframe content for both fans and non-fans. Follow the links for more information about Static HTML CF.
